Easton's Bible Dictionary (1897)
Easton’s Bible Dictionary is more commonly know as the Illustrated Bible Dictionary and was written by Matthew George Easton and published in 1897, three years after his death by Thomas Nelson. Easton was a Scottish Presbyterian preacher and writer. His Bible Dictionary contains nearly 4,000 entries from a 19th century Christian viewpoint. Some entries are encyclopedic in nature and others are short, dictionary-like entries. Even though some of the entries are out-dated, this classic work remains a useful resource for any Christian’s Bible study.
